Event Description
The Blue Devils DPT 5k will be a virtual event this year on October 31st, 2020. The funds raised from this 5k will be going towards the VCU-Marquette 2020-2021 Challenge. The Marquette Challenge (named VCU-Marquette as VCU won the challenge last year) is a grassroots, student-led fundraising effort that supports the mission of the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (FPTR). Funds raised goes towards physical therapy student scholarships, fellowships, and grants for research. Each year, hundreds of physical therapist (PT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) students, with the support of their program directors and community, hold fundraising events across the United States (and enjoy a little fun competition on the side).

The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research is the only national nonprofit solely dedicated to funding physical therapy research. The Marquette Challenge raises critical donations for the Foundation that support funding for clinical researchers and the rigorous scientific review process for all funding. The entry fee is $10 and a $15 dollar T-shirt can be additionally purchased. Please note: to reduce prices, the T-shirts will be available for pick up at the IPE Building. Feel free to pick them up for family and friends who are not local!

Sign up as a single runner or sign up additionally with a team. Teams will consist of 5 members and the top lowest cumulative time wins! The top 3 women, top 3 men, and top 3 teams will be awarded prizes. Teams can be created and recorded on the google sheet below.

Feel free to run any 5k course at your convenience. Please take photos and videos and send them to us! Costumes are encouraged in light of the spooky season, the best costume will get a shout out!
