Event Description
In March 2020, Kelly Edwards received the diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer. Kelly is a vibrant, full of life lady who loves to live life to the fullest and is the happiest when she’s around those that she loves! With the hospital stay in March, followed by continued doctor visits, chemotherapy/radiation , and countless tests that she’s endured, the medical bills are starting to come in daily. Kelly recently finished 3 months of chemotherapy. Although her cancer continues to be localized on the pancreas, the initial round of treatment did not shrink the tumor. She will now begin a new chemotherapy and radiation plan followed by surgery . With this particular cancer and the location, Kelly is set at some point in the future months to travel to John Hopkins in Baltimore Maryland for removal of the tumor. Over the last 6 months the tumor has become more complicated to remove wrapping itself around a vein and artery that is a main blood supply to the pancreas/liver which has made surgery impossible at this time and has been encouraged to seek a second opinion. A world renowned pancreatic surgeon has been contacted at John Hopkins in Maryland and we are praying hard that she is able to get in quickly to seek care. In the meantime a radiation/chemo pill regimen will begin soon although her oncologist isn’t hopeful for positive results since they didn’t see any with the first treatment. This journey continues and we ask first and foremost for your prayers!
Please join us as we run, ride, and rally around Kelly to provide financial support as she navigates through her treatment. This is a virtual event that you can choose to walk, run, or ride or all of the above. Participation includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, and virtual bib that you can print and wear to show support! Virtual Event will span the first two weeks in November (November 1st-15th)!

SWAG PICK-UP: There will be a local pick-up to be announced later but will be held near Lincolnton. If you are not local to Lincolnton you are welcome to add shipping for a flat $5 fee.
