Race Against Time

A Race Against Time is an autonomous virtual race hosted by RUTA Co. where pedestrians will run, jog, or walk a specific distance within a determined timeframe 1-year, 6-months, 3-months, 1-month, or 1-mile-a-day.

The Race Against Time events are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-based (S.M.A.R.T.). 

With Race Against Time each pedestrian will accumulate mileage at their convenience by remaining active year-round.

Each pedestrian will receive a one-of-a-kind Race Against Time medal/challenge coin, T-Shirt, and neck gaiter.

Different Race Options

Race Against Time (1-Year)

A Race Against Time (1-Year) is an autonomous virtual event where the pedestrian will run, jog, or walk 2,200 miles to successfully complete the race.

Pedestrians have one-year (365 days) to complete the full 2,200 miles. That’s an average of 6.03 miles per day!

Pedestrians will receive an one-of-a-kind The Race Against Time medal/challenge coin for successfully completing 2,200 miles in one-year. Each pedestrian will also receive a T-Shirt, and neck gaiter.

Race Against Time (6-Months)

A Race Against Time (6 Months) is an autonomous virtual event where the pedestrian will run, jog, or walk 1,010.5 miles to successfully complete the race.

Pedestrians have six-months to complete the full 1,010.5 miles. That’s an average of 5.55 miles per day!

Pedestrians will receive an one-of-a-kind The Race Against Time medal/challenge coin for successfully completing 1,010.5 miles in six-months. Each pedestrian will also receive a T-Shirt, and neck gaiter.

Race Against Time (3-Months)

A Race Against Time (3-Months) is an autonomous virtual event where the pedestrian will run, jog, or walk 505.25 miles to successfully complete the race.

Pedestrians have three-months to complete the full 505.25 miles. That’s an average of 5.55 miles per day!

Pedestrians will receive an one-of-a-kind The Race Against Time medal/challenge coin for successfully completing 505.25 miles in three-months. Each pedestrian will also receive a T-Shirt, and neck gaiter.

Race Against Time (1-Month)

A Race Against Time (1-Month) is an autonomous virtual event where the pedestrian will run, jog, or walk 168.42 miles to successfully complete the race.

Pedestrians have one-month to complete the full 168.4 miles. That’s an average of 5.61 miles per day!

Pedestrians will receive an one-of-a-kind The Race Against Time medal/challenge coin for successfully completing 168.4 miles in one-month. Each pedestrian will also receive a T-Shirt, and neck gaiter. 

Race Against Time (1-Mile-a-Day)

A Race Against Time (1-Mile-a-Day) is an autonomous virtual event where the pedestrian will run, jog, or walk 365 miles to successfully complete the race.

Pedestrians have one-year to complete the full 365 miles. That’s an average of 1-mile per day!

Pedestrians will receive an one-of-a-kind The Race Against Time medal/challenge coin for successfully completing 365 miles in one-year. Each pedestrian will also receive a neck gaiter.

How it Works

Run, jog, or walk your choice of an accumulative 2,200 miles, 1,010.5 miles, 505.25 miles, 168.42 miles, or 365 miles and earn a one-of-a-kind Race Against Time medal/challenge coin, T-Shirt, and neck gaiter. 

Some ways to accomplish the challenge miles:

• Share your results on our Instagram and Facebook Account!
• Challenge yourself and go the distance!

You can track your progress by using our online Virtual Results. The medal will ship out in 4-5 days after you complete the challenge. It could take longer to reach you depending on where you live.

What is a virtual race?

• A virtual race is a race that you can run, jog, or walk in any location (your favorite running route, on the treadmill, on the track, on trails, or while running another race). 
• You have the flexibility and convenience of running it at any time of day, at your own pace, and in a safe environment.
• We will feature your photos throughout our social media accounts (unless you don’t want us to). 

What distance is this virtual race?

• At RUTA Co., our races are unique. The races are organized by time + mileage. Complete 2,200 miles in 1-Year, complete 1,010.5 miles in 6-months, complete 505.25 miles in 3-months, complete 168.42 miles in 1 month, or complete 365 miles in 1-year (1-mile-a-day).
• You can also determine the maximum distance within the specified timeframe!  

When will the virtual race take place?

• Each race will start immediately on the 1st day of each respective virtual race.

How will the virtual race be tracked?

• Each runner will need to submit each run to our runsignup page.  
• For accountability purposes, we encourage each runner to also share weekly results (or daily) to your Instagram account. We will repost on our Instagram account.

How do I report my results?

• For accountability purposes, we encourage each runner to:
  • Submit each run to our runsignup page. 
  • Use your Garmin, Strava, MapMyRun, Nike, etc. 
  • Share results (daily or weekly) to your Instagram account. We will repost on our Instagram account.
• Note: reporting your miles is mandatory for accountability purposes. 
• You will not receive a medal if each race is not reported and the accumulated results do not add up to the required mileage.  

Cancellation/Refunds

• Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund for this event.

What kind of swag will participants get?

• Registered paid participants will receive a one-of-a-kind Race Against Time medal/challenge coin, T-Shirt, and neck gaiter.
• We are working hard to get you cool Swag. We may update the swag before the official launch date!
• Medals will be shipped out when you complete your race.  

When will my medal/challenge coin arrive?

• The medal/challenge coin will ship out from our USA based facility in approximately 4-5 days after you complete the challenge. 

When will my neck gaiter/t-shirt arrive?

• The t-shirt will ship out 3-4 weeks after you sign-up for the virtual race. 

Do you ship outside the USA?

• Yes! We ship anywhere in the world. 

Is there be a Facebook page/group for this event?

• Yes, we have created a Facebook page/group for all participants to share photos, results, and see what other runners are up to.
