COLLECTIVE MILEAGE GOAL: 50,000 (April 1 - April 24, 2021)

Let's get outside to support public schools in Oakland and Alameda! 

The first Ride for a Reason happened in 2008: four cyclists with children in public schools, frustrated by the severe state budget cuts to eduction, rode from Oakland to Sacramento to dramatize their determination to do better for California’s students.  Last year, we were on pace to blow past our record of raising more than $225,000 for our 12 school beneficiaries but due to Covid-19 we had to cancel our event.  For 2021, we have decided to forge full speed ahead with a virtual event that also includes runners and walkers, along with cyclists.  Our hope for a more inclusive virtual event, we'll get more participants involved in raising funds and awareness around the needs of our public schools.
