The Long Grove 1st Annual Virtual New Years Day 5k!

A fun 5k to start your New Year off right and run the "Fluff" out of 2020!  We’re giving you the whole month of January to get your run done, (January 1, 12:00am - January 31, 12:00pm).

Details 

Join us for a 5k walk or run to support Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter and do something healthy for yourself at the same time! This is a VIRTUAL RUN, but will have lots of community engagement with social media, posting your run results, and photos.

While you might not be running as a group, you will be running alone together. You can also set up a social group and have anyone join from anywhere! Get your colleagues, friends and family together and do it as a team! 

HOW A VIRTUAL RUN WORKS:

• Register online 

• Once your registration is complete, your running packet will be created 

• Any time after January 1, 2021 and before January 31, go out for a 5k (3.1 miles) run or walk using your phone or Fitbit or anything you choose to time yourself

• After your run/walk, come back to this website and submit your time

• Post your photos from the run on your Instagram and tag us @enjoylonggrove #HDLGNEWYEARSDAY5K

December 19:                3:00-6:00pm Early Packet Pick-up at Buffalo Creek Brewing

December 29:                3:00-6:00pm Packet Pick-up at Buffalo Creek Brewing

January 1st:                   12:00am Start your 5k any time, any day, any location

January 15:                    11:59pm Registration Closes

January 16:                    3:00-6:00pm Late Packet Pick-Up at Buffalo Creek Brewing

January 31:                    12:00pm 5k must be completed

January 31:                    3:00-6:00pm Post Race Hybrid Party and prizes (Details TBD)

5k Walk/Run Packet includes 

Bib, number, t-shirt, goody bag, and finisher certificate instructions

Long Grove New Years Day 5K Mission Statement 

The Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association is dedicated to making a difference for our community while helping animals find loving homes. With each race entry, we will raise awareness and funds to make that possible. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter. They are a 501c3 organization dedicated to helping save animals in the Northern Illinois area and beyond. They are in their 93rd year and have played a big role in helping animals find loving homes.
