Event Description
We at HARRC have missed our running community and all that comes with it these past few months. We have missed our Annual Spring Banquet, the HARRCley, everyone’s favorite (only) 7K race, HARRC After Dark, our Annual Picnic, HARRC in the Park and our Full Moon Runs. So, we have decided to cram all the fun activities that we missed this year due to COVID into 12 days in the month of December! We are inviting you, our beloved running community, to join us!!!
Register by providing a small $5.00 donation through the website (money will benefit Bethesda Mission), and participate by completing the activities listed below throughout the 12 days allotted!
For an additional fee, you can purchase a HARRC Holiday Hustle shirt! $20.00 if you select the "pick up" option or $25.00 to have your shirt shipped to you.
Our event will take place virtually from December 9th through December 20th. Each day is a different challenge/task. Your job is to complete the tasks, take photos (it didn’t happen if it's not on social media! ;-) ) and post to Instagram tagging the club @harrisburgruns and use the hashtag, #HARRCholidayhustle for your post to count. (Don’t forget, you will need to follow the club on Instagram in order for us to see your posts, especially if your settings are private)
Each challenge is worth one point unless noted, the participant with the most points at the end of the challenge will win a prize! What are the challenges you ask….well, take a look below!
Dec. 9 - Share a photo of yourself with a Santa (bonus point if it’s on a run)
Dec. 10 - Share a photo of you helping the environment by picking up trash on your run
Dec. 11 - Share a photo of yourself completing Feats of Strength; What are Feats of Strength you ask? Read more here
Dec. 12 - Complete a 5K (3.1miles); Share your distance, time, and picture (creativity earns more points!)
Dec. 13 - Take a selfie with your favorite HARRC gear; it can be anything (hat, race shirt, award…..don’t have one? We have some for sale!!)
Dec. 14 - Share a photo of yourself with a Reindeer (bonus point if it’s on a run)
Dec. 15 - Share a photo of yourself with a Star of David (bonus point if it’s on a run)
Dec. 16 - Share a post with you and some of the HARRC Board’s favorite Christmas books and movies, earn a point for each item you show!
Books: T'was the Night Before Christmas; A Christmas Carol; Polar Express
Movies: A Christmas Story; Frosty the Snowman; Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Dec. 17 - Complete a 7K (4.3496 miles to be exact!); Share your distance, time and picture (creativity earns more points)
Dec. 18 - Share a photo of yourself doing an act of kindness (donating your time, food, or helping someone in need)
Dec. 19 - Complete a 10K (6.2 miles); Share your distance, time and picture (creativity earns more points)
Dec. 20 - Go for a run with your family! Take pictures, have fun and share on Instagram
