This event (on January 2nd) may in fact be the most important event that we have organized in recent memory.
With what we’ve all experienced over the last 10 months,
it’s time to put 2020 BEHIND US and move on to a more
POSITIVE & OPTIMISTIC 2021.

With careful planning & cooperation from Bucks County Parks & Recreation, New Britain Township & Scoogie Events, we are VERY PROUD to announce a BRAND NEW New Year’s running event!

We take GREAT EFFORTS & PRIDE in the fact that we have organized 4 SAFE EVENTS this year.
Your safety (as well as the safety of the Scoogie Events CREW and the countless volunteers) is our NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!
We take this responsibility very seriously.
No stone is left unturned in our impeccable planning to make sure YOU ARE SAFE at our events.
We want everyone to feel safe & comfortable so that you’re able to enjoy your Scoogie Events experience.

💥IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT REGISTRATION💥
For safety reasons and park & state guidelines, we are limiting each 5k to ONLY 100 RUNNERS!
This means that once 100 runners has been reached, the event will CLOSE and we simply cannot accept any new registrations.
Please register ASAP!
The event will likely sell out VERY quickly!

Starts will be a staggered start at two different start/finish lines (in sight of each other).
DEPARTURE TIME 9:45…(we kindly ask that you please leave the venue by 9:45 to make room for the later start times)

Where: Sailor’s Point, Peace Valley Park (race start/finish)
How: You will NOT need to get out of your car!!
You will simply follow the signs down towards the lake, a Scoogie Events CREW member then comes to your window, asks for the name of the packets you’re picking up and you’ll be on your way.

PACKET PICK-UP IS VERY STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!
MANY OF OUR DEVOTED CREW MEMBERS & VOLUNTEERS ALSO RUN THESE EVENTS AND THEY NEED TIME TO PREPARE AS WELL!
PLEASE THINK OF THEM AND TRY VERY HARD TO COME TO PACKET PICK-UP THE DAY BEFORE (1/1)!
Plus, if you pick up your packets at packet pick-up, you don’t have to arrive so early on race morning.
PPU is NOT mandatory but again, STRONGLY encouraged.

😀 STAGGERED START & INSTANT RESULTS:
This event will be chip timed with the chips embedded in the special edition vanity race bibs.
We will have everyone lined up (socially distanced, with masks ON), you choose when you want to start! No pressure! There will be timing mats at the start line, therefore your time starts once you cross the start line. So no need to rush to get to the start. The start will begin at 8:45 or 10:45 with runners starting in 5 second intervals. Start when you are ready😊
You CAN take your mask off when you run (please carry it with you while running)
Your results will be EMAILED &/OR TEXTED upon crossing the finish line!

The Scoogie Events CREW has very successfully produced 4 events in the past few months!
We take YOUR SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY!
COVID PROTOCOLS for the 2020 is Hindsight 5k's!:
~Packet Pick-up (Friday, January 1st) will be “drive-up style”. You will not need to get out of your car! You will receive an email the Monday before the event with details regarding packet pick as well as race day details. In the meantime, here are the GPS coordinates: VIEW IN GOOGLE MAPS
~Each 5k is limited to ONLY 100 runners! (only runners can come on race day, no spectators please)
~We will practice strict social distancing during the entire event.
~Everyone entering the venue will be required to get their temperature checked (non-contact, one second infrared thermometer)
~Masks MUST be worn at all times (except while running)
~There will be no water stations for either the 5k run courses. Please plan accordingly.
~Hand sanitizing stations will be situated throughout the race venue.
~And YES, you can be assured that the POSITIVE VIBES you’ve come to expect will be ever present at this event as well! We all need them more than ever!😊

🏃🏻♂️RUN TO 2021 5K has a 1/4 of a mile hill, the rest is downhill or flat. 🏃🏻♀️HIT THE NEW YEAR RUNNING 5K has a couple of rollers (slight inclines) but is mostly flat.
WHY ARE WE ORGANIZING THIS EVENT:
Because 2020 has been a very difficult year for so many of us and even though we are limited to such a small number of runners and it’s five times the amount of work to make this event happen, we feel that we need to give HOPE and spread some needed POSITIVITY to our faithful runners.
And that’s EXACTLY what we plan on doing to bring in the new year on January 2, 2021!
Additionally, we LOVE Peace Valley Park and want to give back to them!
They are this year’s race beneficiary and they will receive 100% of the donations generated from this event!

Again, if COVID gets worse over the weeks/months and we deem it to be unsafe to have this event, we will make the event a VIRTUAL event. There will be no refunds. Your swag (medal & t-shirt) will be able to be picked up a yet-to-be determined SWAG pick up.

"Multi person/family discount means that you get $10 off the total registration fees when signing up 3 or more runners for the any of the runs besides the kid's run or walk". The "Multi person/family discount" will be automatically taken off once three runners are registered when registering them all at the same time!

AWARDS:
Overall TOP THREE winners (male & female), plus top three males & females in each age category:
NEW AGE GROUP 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 60-69, 70 & over. No mailing of awards or shirts.
Again, no mailing of awards or shirts. You MUST pick up your award before you leave. If you do not, we cannot hold/store awards and it will likely be given to a race day entry or someone else. It is simply too much to hold/store & inventory the awards.
Note: If you are registered for this race and you registered in time to choose a tech shirt BUT you are unable to run for whatever reason, you will NEED TO CONTACT us BEFORE RACE DAY and let us know if you'd like us to hold on to your reserved shirt for you to pick up at a future Scoogie Event. If you do not do this, we cannot hold your shirt and it will be given to someone that registered after the deadline. We cannot mail shirts!
Packet Pick details will be emailed 5 days before this event.
Runners may pick up their packets on race morning but it is advised that they pick them up at packet pick up the day before to avoid lines on race day.
PARKING ON RACE DAY: PARKING ON RACE DAY WILL BE AT SAILOR’S POINT @ PEACE VALLEY PARK. (specific parking details will be emailed 5 days before the event)
