Event Description

Happy Winter! Instead of our traditional family snowshoe event, this year Jackson in Action will be hosting our first ever Triple Snowshoe Challenge! On each of the weekends listed below, we will have a snowshoe course marked out at one of our beautiful local parks. Gather up your immediate family and snowshoe or hike the course anytime between Saturday 9am thru Sunday 3pm. This is not a race...just a nature stroll through Jackson County's winter wonderland.

COVID Considerations: Please follow any applicable state mandates at the time of the event. Please participate with immediate family members, wear a mask when appropriate, and follow social distancing when approaching other individuals on the trails.

January 9-10: Wazee Lake Recreation Area

January 23-24: Skyline Golf Course

February 6-7: Castle Mound

Once you complete a course, log into your account in RunSignUp and mark that you have completed the route. Do all 3 and you will be entered into our prize package drawing that includes a Jackson in Action snow hat, fanny pack and $25.00 in Chamber bucks. PLEASE NOTE; YOUR RESULTS WILL NOT SHOW UP IN THE VIRTUAL STANDINGS UNTIL YOU HAVE LOGGED ALL 3 EVENTS SO DON'T STRESS IF YOUR NAME DOESN'T SHOW UP UNTIL THE END. IT WILL COME :)

Due to gathering restrictions, we will not be able to have a central location to check out snowshoes.  Reach out to a friend or neighbor and see if you can borrow a pair if you do not have any.  Otherwise, a winter hike counts too! No snowshoes required; just get out and enjoy nature regardless of what you have on your feet!
