Come to beautiful Winter Haven Florida and run or walk a 5k to support the athletic programs at Winter Haven Schools
Stay fit 2021!: If you are looking for a fitness goal for you and your family to keep you motivated during these challenging times here is an accurate 5k to run or walk. We have a flexible start time from 9:00 to 9:30 am. This will allow ample social distancing at the start of the race, along the course, and at the finish line. The race is chipped timed with T-shirts, live results and awards.
Family Fun Event: This is a great event to bring the family. You and your children can start anytime between 8:30 and 10 am. To help encourage our young people to run and stay active we have made the entry fee for 18 and under only $10 (includes T-shirt and Medal/Magnet!).
The entry fee is $20 until 2/5/21 (Guaranteed a Shirt), $25 from 2/6 to 2/12, and $30 race day. Entry fee includes a T-SHIRT and Medal/Magnet. Register early for the discounted fee and to guarantee a shirt! To encourage youth and families to run the race, the fee for participants 18 and under is only $10 includes a T-shirt and Medal/Magnet!
Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site. Please remember your overall and age group place will not be final until the last person has crossed the finish line at approximately 10:00 am.
Age Group Awards: 5k Run/Walk - Gift Certificate to top 3 in age group. Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-12 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Virtual Race: Sign up by February 4th 2021 and we will mail you a Mid-Winter Classic T-shirt and Medal/Magnet. On the weekend of February 12-14 run a 5k course near you and submit your time HERE. No awards for the virtual race
Proceeds from the race go to support athletic programs in the Winter Haven Schools.
Stay Safe Race Procedures for 2021
Flexible start time: Start the race any time between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. There will be no crowded mass start. Keep an eye on the start line and begin your race when it is free of other participants. No more than 5 people will start at a time. The start line will be wide, and the space is very open to allow for proper social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start when you are ready and at your own pace.
Packet Pickup/Check-in area: The packet pickup/check-in area will be spaced out to allow ample room for social distancing. All race volunteers will be wearing a mask. We encourage participants to wear a mask when picking up their packet. Packet pick up will be held on race day February 13th, starting at 7:30 am until 9:00 am at the pavilion in the park.
Staff and Volunteers: All staff and volunteers will wear a face mask.
Participants: We encourage participants to wear a face mask while picking up their packet and at the start of the race.
Fluid Stations: We will provide bottled water at the finish of the race. There will be no fluid stations on the course. Bring your own water for the course.
Hand Sanitizer will be located in various areas near packet pickup
