Event Description
After 2020 (need we say more??), Let’s start 2021 Vacaville-Strong with a unique series - the 4 Peaks challenge! This multi-weekend challenge takes us along some of Vacaville’s most epic peaks: the cheesegrater, the Tower, Cantelow, and Gates-Mix canyon.
In addition to experiencing the hills of Vacaville, the 4 peaks challenge will give back to the local community in a show of support after a tough last year. Each participant will receive a $50 gift card to a locally owned Vacaville business of your choice after completing the challenge.
Each event will be open for 1 week - complete the hike or run on the appropriate segment between Monday and Sunday of the event week, and upload your results to Strava and Strava will automatically log your result (fun prizes will be raffled off to those who complete the whole challenge). As we anticipate continued need to practice social distancing over the next several months there will be no formal “race start times”, so pick your week or weekend day, pick your time and get out there - odds are good you’ll see fellow participants out there on the course as you run!

2/15-2/21 - The Tower
3/8-3/14 - Cantelow
4/5-4/11 - Gates Canyon/Mix Canyon
There will be a short-course and long-course option.
Short course:
Cheese Grater (0.44mi, up only) Course
Gate to the Tower (1.50mi, up only) Course
NEW COURSE!!! Steiger Hill, starting at Cantelow to Gibson Canyon and back Course
Gates Canyon from the base to mile marker 3 and back down (~6mi out and back, link to follow) Course
Long course:
Cheese Grater (0.44mi, up only) Course
Gate to the Tower (1.50mi, up only) Course
Cantelow from Steiger to Pleasants Valley and back (7.78mi out and back) Course
Gates Canyon/Mix Canyon Loop (14.3mi ) The bottom of Mix Canyon along Pleasants Valley to gates, up Blue Ridge Road, down Mix Canyon to the start Course
Registration fee: $75
What you get: gift card to local business of your choice and a commemorative pint glass!
How we track: After signing up, join the Strava “4 Peaks Challenge 2021” club (or sign up for Strava first if you don’t have an account). Once you upload your run you’ll see how you stack up!
