Event Description

Jersey City Road Runners is hosting the inaugural Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial 5K on MLK Day, Monday, January 18th at 8:00am, starting the run at Communipaw and MLK, going down MLK to McAdoo and then back. This will be a dry run, no-frills run without timing. It's to honor Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and scope out future possibilities. The day will start off with a prayer service at 7:00am at Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion church (140 Belmont Avenue at the corner of Bergen Avenue), where Dr. King preached on March 27, 1968, one week before he was assassinated. We will then process over to the start of the race. NO CHARGE TO RUNNERS.
