6.5k Run, 22k Bike, 2k Run!

Get outside, stretch your legs and enjoy the quaint and scenic town of Boulder Junction this spring. We are looking forward to hosting fun and safe event with COVID-19 safety precautions in place for you and our volunteers. This event is normally the White Deer Triathlon, but due to logistics related to COVID-19, we are holding a Duathlon this year only.

The White Deer Duathlon on Saturday, May 15, 2021, begins at the Commnunity Center at 9am.

The three legs of the race include:

  • Run the 6.5K course on beautiful Boulder Junction roads and loop through historic Camp Manito-wish YMCA
  • Bike from the Community Center for 22K along paved rustic roads around Boulder Junction 
  • Run the 2K on scenic roads in Boulder Junction ending at the Boulder Junction Community Center.

Your entry includes: 

  • Short sleeved performance T-shirt (size guaranteed if registered by May 1, 2021)
  • Participation medal
  • Goodie bag
  • Bagged lunch & beverage
  • Awards presentation
  • An adventure in Boulder Junction!

Capacity is limited to 200 entrants this year, so register now!

 

GENERAL COVID-19 SAFTEY PRECAUTIONS:

 

  • The entire event will be held outside on the grounds of the Community Center and roads of Boulder Junction, including packet pick-up.
  • All participants, spectators and volunteers are required to social distance to the best of their ability throughout the entire event.
  • All participants, spectators and volunteers are asked to stay home if they are unwell at any time in the 72 hours prior to traveling to the Boulder Junction area.
  • All participants, spectators and volunteers are required to wear face masks or cloth face coverings at all times, except when racing on the run and bike courses or while eating or drinking. The White Deer Duathlon Committee reserves the right to remove anyone not adhering to this requirement.
  • All athletes are to have a face covering on their person on the course in case of an emergency.
  • Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the event.

Friday, May 14:

5pm to 8:30pm, Packet Pick-Up. Photo ID required

Evening, Dinner on Own. Enjoy carryout or dine in at one of our area restaurants.

Saturday, May 15:

7am until 8am, Equipment Drop off

9am, Race Begins

11am-last finisher, Bagged Lunch

1pm, Awards Presentation 

Evening, Dinner on Own. Enjoy carryout or dine in at one of our area restaurants.

Sunday, May 16: 

Bike any of the over 50 miles of paved bike trails, paddle or fish the beautiful lakes, hike area trails, dine/carryout at local restaurants and shop the unique Boulder Junction stores – all day at your own pace. Check our site for possible outings.

  • Face mask or cloth covering
  • Bicycle
  • Bike helmet and running shoes
  • Sunscreen, towel, socks, sunglasses, whatever you need to be comfortable
  • Filled water bottles
  • A smile and a great attitude!
