Event Description

The St. Petersburg Heroes Foundation is proud to announce that, with careful planning and limited participation, the City of St. Petersburg has approved the Annual Heroes Run on Friday, March 19, 2021,at 6:30 pm in Demon’s Landing Demens Landing Park in the amazing downtown St. Petersburg at Bayshore Drive and 2nd Avenue S. St. Petersburg, Florida 33701. Thank you in advance for your understanding the 2021 race modifications and for working with us to continue to support the Heroes who are currently serving in law enforcement and fire rescue or have served in any capacity in the past. Check in is race evening ONLY and will begin at 5:45 p.m. 3/19/21.

In an effort to keep you comfortable and safe for this great event we are limiting the Heroes run to only 250 participants in an actual 5K walk/run this year beginning at  6:30 p.m. immediately following our opening ceremonies honoring all law enforcement and fire rescue dignitaries and honorees.

Obviously there are many changes since we first learned of the virus last year so our ability to make up the 2020 cancelled race was not possible. Because the numbers are limited, we are unable to transfer participants into this smaller event in 2021.

With our limited numbers we are not able to offer a 10K this year, however, we fully plan to open the one mile division in early March when we are able to evaluate how the race is filling so that we can safely accommodate both the 5K and one mile distances in 2021.

Please understand that with all races, once you register your space is secure should the race take place (which we fully intend to happen once registration opens).  As always there are no refunds on race entries due to cancellation from weather, illness, natural disaster, etc. Every registration dollar is used to benefit the great families who represent law enforcement and fire rescue.

We respect your faith in our effort to host another outstanding Heroes Foundation run and EVERY registration is a value to our Heroes Foundation. If you are struggling financially but want to participate please text Suzanne at 727-CAN-RACE (727-226-7223).

Your registration into our 2021 event includes a Heroes foundation cotton T-shirt, as well as your American Flag finishers medal, and timed 5K. Though we are not back to hosting post race awards parties, race times for the actual 5K only will be posted later on race weekend in order of finish on www.727CanRace.com and you’ll each be sent home with a can of Bud Seltzer after the race to celebrate your victory at home! Welcome back and thank you for supporting our HEROES
