Formerly known as Big Brothers Big Sisters, MAV Youth Mentoring is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of programs for the youth in Mercer, Auglaize, and Van Wert counties. Their mission is to provide all children facing difficulties a positive and professionally supported one-on-one relationship that improves their lives forever. Currently, MAV Youth Mentoring offers Lunch Club, Supper Club, After School Buddies, and One-On-One programs, where a youth is matched with an adult mentor and is provided a role model in his/her life.
According to our Youth Outcome Surveys:
75% of youth maintained or improved their grades at school
70% maintained or improved their attitudes towards risky behavior such as underage drinking, tobacco use, drug use, etc.
82% of youth maintained or improved their educational expectations; this includes their expectation of graduating high school, attending college, and graduating college
94% of youth maintained or improved their feeling of social acceptance
95% of youth maintained or improved their scholastic competence/academic achievements
MAV invites you to run miles in recognition of the victories made by our communities' youth each and every day while in our programs!
