Welcome back to the 9th Annual Bandana Bolt 5K!

All fitness levels welcome. 

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, 13thirty Cancer Connect will host the Bandana Bolt as a live and virtual event. This means our 13thirty Champions will run, jog, and walk #TogetherApart. 

At this time, we are excited to offer a limited, live/in-person event (NYS residents only) at Seneca Park on Sunday, June 6, 2021!

The 2020 Bandana Bolt looked a little different last year, but nearly 200 13thirty Champions across the U.S. helped teens and young adults with cancer cross the finish line. Anyone, anywhere can participate virtually again and enjoy a fun-filled race weekend. 

By registering for this hybrid event, you are supporting 13thirty Cancer Connect and our mission to help teens and young adults impacted by cancer live their very best lives - today!

 

Details:

Virtual Race Weekend: YOU determine your own race course! Run, walk, or jog solo or socially distant with family and friends anywhere, anytime from Friday, June 4 - Sunday, June 6! Post a photo on social media, tag @13thirtyCancerConnect and use the hashtag #BandanaBolt2021. You can record your race time on the Results Page or simply indicate you participate without providing a time.

In-Person Race Day: We're going back to Seneca Park! 

Race Packet: The first 100 participants who register before Friday, May 28 will receive a Bandana Bolt Race Packet. This will include your exclusive 2021 Bandana to wear on race day! During registration, please indicate how you would like to receive your race packet:

  • Contactless Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up (virtual and in-person participants): Date TBD - 13thirty Cancer Connect 1000 Elmwood Avenue Rochester, NY 14620
  • Contactless Day-Of Packet Pick-Up (in-person participants only): Sunday, June 6th - Seneca Park
  • Mailed Race Packet (virtual participants only)

COVID-19 Precautions for Live Race Day:

13thirty Cancer Connect will continue to monitor the conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. We cordially request that you adhere to all our safety guidelines and we reserve the right to deny entry to the event should protocols not be followed. Please check your email and 13thirty social media leading up to the race for race changes and updates. If you would like to change your registration type (virtual or in-person), please email caroline@13thirty.org.

Pre-Race Precautions:
  • No day-of registrations.
  • All staff and volunteers will be masked at all times. 
  • All staff, volunteers and participants will remain socially distanced and six feet apart at all times. 
  • There will be no congregating before or after the event. 
  • A COVID-19 questionnaire will be sent to every participant and volunteer prior to race day.
  • Participants and volunteers are required to fill out and submit the questionnaire electronically no more than 24 hours prior to race day.
  • Participants will not be allowed to run without completing the questionnaire. Printed copies will be available upon arrival if a participant has not completed it.
  • We encourage participants to wait in/stretch by their vehicles before their start time
  • All staff, volunteers and participants will have their temperature taken before entering the event area. Anyone with a temperature of 100+ degrees will be asked to leave the event area immediately.
Race Precautions:
  • Spectators/guests are not allowed in the event area.
  • Restrooms, trash bins, hand cleaning stations and masks will be available.
  • To limit participants on the course, water stations will not be available. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration. 
  • Masks must be worn leading up to the start of the race and immediately following completion of the race.
  • The course is on open roads. Please stay alert and follow the rules of the road.
  • All participants are allowed up to one hour to complete the race. Universal cutoff time for all participants is 10:30am.
Post-Race Precautions:
  • Post-race snacks and swag bags will be pre-packaged and distributed at the finish line as participants exit. 
  • There will not be official timing this year. You can personally log your results on the race website after the event. 
  • There will be no in-person awards ceremony. Stay tuned on social media!
