Event Description
The Inaugural Blue & Green 5K presented by Team Georgia TGA is a run/walk event that promotes the importance of organ donation and transplantation and also celebrates the lives of organ donors. Blue & Green are the colors used across the U.S. to show support for organ & tissue donation. Team Georgia TGA (Transplant Games of America) is a nonprofit (501c3) organization and the official state team made up of organ, tissue and cornea transplant recipients, living organ donors, donor families, and supporters who compete and cheer at the Transplant Games of America (https://www.transplantgamesofamerica.org/). We spend hundreds of hours each year at our local medical centers, virtual and community gatherings, and other public events advocating the life-saving benefits of organ donation and transplantation. In our inaugural year, the race will be VIRTUAL. After registering, you can run or walk a 5k (3.1 mile) distance anywhere (a park, in your neighborhood, on a treadmill) to complete the Run/Walk.
In 2022, this race is being planned as an in-person event in Marietta, GA and will become a favorite!
