Join us for the Inaugural Bangor to the Beach run presented by the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee! 

Every Spring for the past 40 plus years, the Military Affairs Committee of the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce has held Military Appreciation Day (MAD) to help connect our business community with the military living in our area. MAD is a significant fundraiser that allows us to put money earned back into our military community programs.

Blue Star Banner Program (Honoring  a service member with their name displayed on a banner for public view)
Toys for Tots 
Sailor, Marine, & Coast Guard of the Quarter recognition
Wreaths on graves sites honoring our Veterans during the holidays 
KAVA Stand Down 

One of the most popular fundraisers during the pandemic has been Virtual Runs. It allows families to get outside and participate with minimum risks. We have created Bangor To The Beach; a Virtual 5k Fun Run event will be held on May 15th through May 31st. What an excellent time to celebrate the homecoming of the USS Nimitz, and its crew. This aircraft carrier has over 3,000 crew members and 1,500 airwing, in addition to 500 Non-Military personnel. Adding to this arrival are all the families they bring to their new duty station. What a benefit to our local economy! We hope you will consider sponsorship of this event and help us continue to “love” our military community on behalf of the businesses in our community.
