Event Description

The WhatMakesUsFire Foundation is holding a charity fundraiser on May 30th, 2021 in Galveston, Texas. with a 22 mile march in remembrance of the 22 veterans a day that fall victim to suicide. WhatMakesUsFire is dedicated to helping all civil service members (military, and first responders), active or retired, and all volunteers obtain in-patient mental health treatment for all mental health associated illnesses. We do this by taking on the financial costs associated with the treatment, as well as helping the civil service member and their family with cost of living expenses while they are in treatment. WhatMakesUsFire has a goal to kill the stigma surrounding mental health, and your participation in this event helps us achieve this goal.

Check-in for the event will begin promptly at 0700, where you will receive your t-shirt and route map. Look for the WhatMakesUsFire banner and canopy that will be located adjacent to the East Beach Free Parking Area.
