Event Description

LNR Adult Summer Strength for Endurance Athletes

The LNR Adult Summer Strength Session will primarily focus on building a solid base for Nordic Skiing utilizing body weight movements, barbells, free weights and plyometrics. Participants will learn to use correct technique for movements through hands on instruction. Also a large focus for the summer session will be mobility and stretching (1/3 of each session will be spent on this). Whether you are new to strength or have been doing it for years this will be a beneficial course to improve your ski performance.

  • Session 1: Monday mornings at 6:30AM, June 14 - August 9th (no practice July 5th)
  • Session 2: Thursday mornings at 6:30AM, June 17th - August 12th (no practice  July 8th)
  • Session 3: Monday evenings at 6:00pm, June 14th - August 9th (no practice July 5th)

 

Rollerski Groups

Sessions focus on interval training, specific strength and technique development for skate skiing. Initial focus on legs only skiing and double poling. The bulk of the sessions will focus on perfecting V2, V2Alt, and V1. Technique video review will be done during some of the sessions.

  • Learn to Rollerski/Beginner Clinic: Fridays at 10:00am on May 28, June 4, and June 11th
  • Intermediate Rollerkiing: Thursdays at 10:00am, June 17th - August 12th (no practice July 8th)
  • Wave 1/Advanced Rollerskiing Summer: Wednesday mornings at 7:00am , June 16th - August 11th (no practice July 7th)

 

Women’s Groups

This program will focus on some creative “brick” workouts that stack mountain biking, trail running, and strength training into a single workout session. The training group is beneficial for anyone who wants to increase their fitness, and is especially helpful for preparing for the summer’s Tri-Loppet race.

The class is open to intermediate to advanced fitness-level athletes over the age of 18 years old who identify as female and have some experience with mountain biking and trail running.
