Event Description

The Share Your Strength 5k on Saturday May 11 will support the continuing recovery of Jan Sheffield. In August 2022, Jan was diagnosed as a tetraplegic but today is able to stand and move her hands and arms to perform simple tasks that so many of us take for granted. These advances are thanks to her positive determination and countless hours of therapy. This race honors the strong women who amaze us in their strength and ability to overcome obstacles, like Jan.  All proceeds will fund Jan's ongoing medical expenses which help advance her recovery.

The cost is $25 through May 10 with race day registration cost of $30 and included a custom race t-shirt.  The cost of a virtual 5k is $25 with an additional fee of $5 for a t-shirt.  Check in and race day registration will be at the small shelter next to the playground in Millennium Park starting at 7:00 AM.  Light brunch food will be available following the race and during the awards ceremony.
