Event Description

Victor Splash & Dash into Spring with this great, family friendly, event designed for both the first time youth, and the experienced youth and adult multisport athlete. The race includes a youth and adult splash & dash (a swim run event) and youth and adult 5k. 

This race has the honor of being apart of the 2024 Niagara Youth State Series. USA Triathlon launched the Youth State Series this year to encourage youth and junior athletes to participate in events locally and increase the opportunities for them to race more often alongside their peers. There are several great youth triathlons in our area and want to highlight the opportunity for our next generation of triathletes to experience many of them as part of the series.

At each series event, you will have the ability to earn points and see how you rank against other athletes in your individual age group. Each race, no matter the multisport format, will give you the opportunity to add to your score.

This event is hosted by OutFront Multisport & Cristina Caldwell, proud Victor alumna. Join us at the fantastic Victor Blue Devil Aquatics Center for a swim + run (or run only) event. A beginner friendly swim (you're swimming in the pool), followed by a safe track run for the kids. The adults will be swimming, then running around the Victor Central School's Campus. If you choose to do the 5K only, you'll be starting at the same time, and running around the campus. The entire event will be held on the school grounds with little to no traffic. 

Distances: We are following USA Triathlon guidelines for youth aquathlon distances.

• Youth Ages 6-7 years old:  50 yard swim, followed by 1 lap around the track (approximately 1/4 mile)- * Kids may wear a lifejacket and parent participation is encouraged (in the water and on the track)
• Youth Ages 8-10 years old: 100 yard swim, followed by 2 laps around the track (approximately 1/2 mile)
• Youth Ages 11-15 years old: 200 yard swim, followed by 4 laps around the track (approximately 1 mile)
• Youth and Adults ages 16+: 500 yard swim, followed by 5k around the school's campus (you'll do 2 loops of the campus)
• 16+ relay teams- if you're wanting to race with a friend, sign up as a relay. One person swims 500 yards, one person runs the 5k

The 5K is open to walkers and runners, age 6+.

Additional Race Details:

*There will be 2-4 athletes per lane swimming. Each age group will swim only within that age group. So 6 & 7 will only be with 6 & 7 year olds, etc. 

All athletes (even 5k runners and walkers) must have a license through USA Triathlon as this is a USA Triathlon sanctioned race. Insurance provides excess accident and medical insurance if needed (it's not race refund insurance):

• Youth licenses USA Triathlon offers discounted annual membership for youth athletes. $10 per year.
• Adult licenses are either $13 for a single day purchase, or $60 for the year. If you only plan to do this USAT sanctioned race this year, a single day license is best. If you're planning on additional races, consider the yearly license.

Awards & Swag:

*All splash & dash youth athletes will receive a medal, a youth teeshirt (soft cotton blend) along with other race swag and post race snacks. Their race will be non-competitive in the sense that there won't be age group awards.

*All other splash & dash athletes ages 16-99 years old, will receive a medal, a teeshirt (soft cotton blend) and awards based on the categories: 16-20, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, etc. 

• The top overall athletes (M/F) will receive overall awards, while the top 3 athletes (M/F) of each age group will receive age group awards. 
• Ages for these categories will be calculated on USAT rules for age on Dec 31st, 2024

*5K athletes will receive a medal and teeshirt, in addition to awards based on 10 year age groups. 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, etc. 

*You must sign up by May 1st to ensure a tee-shirt. 

Benefit the Community:

Proceeds for this event will benefit the Victor Physical Education Dept and the Victor Central Schools Education Foundation. The VCS Foundation is dedicated to supporting, enhancing, and promoting educational opportunities for students of the Victor Central School District. The Foundation will support students and staff by providing resources to expand existing activities and create new educational opportunities.

*There will be a special VCS Teacher's award. The fastest teacher, or teacher relay will receive $100 for school supplies*

Packet pickup and specifics will be added as we get closer to the race. 

Cancellations :

This is a rain or shine event. We know that occasionally weather can play a part in an outside event. If this occurs, we will make every effort to continue the event safely. If the event must be canceled, no refunds will be given.
