Event Description

The Sequatchie Valley Walk for Alzheimer's is a volunteer and community-led fundraising event to benefit the Pat Summitt Foundation. Our goal is to support their efforts to find treatments and eventually a cure for Alzheimer's disease.  The Pat Summitt Foundation was created shortly after the legendary Pat Summitt was diagnosed with the dreadful disease. Later, the Pat Summitt Clinic opened in January 2017, just seven months after Pat’s passing. The clinic, housed in the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, is conducting critical research using cutting-edge technology, providing treatment and care for patients, and supporting caregivers with much-needed resources and support.

The Sequatchie Valley Walk for Alzheimer's is a 2-mile walk on the beautiful Dunlap Greenway.  For those who can't physically make the walk, a virtual option is available and cheerleaders on the day of the walk are always needed and welcomed.

Our ultimate goal is to raise awareness and funds to eventually eliminate this devastating disease.  Pat Summitt’s determination to work hard, stay in the fight, and aim for victory is our inspiration. Let's come together as a community to help the Pat Summitt Foundation win this battle against Alzheimer's disease. Create your own team or join an existing team, then help us with our fundraising efforts! See you in September!!
