Event Description

During this unsettling time, we all need the support of family and friends. As we physically distance ourselves, we need to engage with our hearts. For those of us who deal with or care about someone with a mental health challenge, or have lost someone they love to suicide, this time may have been even more stressful!

With that in mind, Prevent Suicide Marathon County is hosting a FREE, VIRTUAL walk for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness, on Saturday, October 10, 2020 on World Mental Health Day! Walk as meditation for yourself, with family or friends (keeping safety as your priority) to show your support and in remembrance of those we love. You can walk anywhere you like – in your own neighborhood, through a park, wherever. All we ask is that you send a selfie of yourselves and tell us where you are on that day! We will post them on Facebook!

Something also new this year, the walk has gone local! This means all monies raised will remain here and used to support mental health and suicide prevention education as well as community support to Marathon County and the surrounding area.
