Event Description

Fresh Start Clubhouse (https://freshstartclubhouse.org/) is a nonprofit organization designed to support people with mental illness in their recovery through meaningful work and relationships. Fresh Start Clubhouse follows the Clubhouse International model, which is an evidence-based practice that offers social and economic inclusion to people with mental illness. The Clubhouse model has been shown to improve quality of life while reducing hospitalizations and other negative effects associated with severe mental illness. Participation in the Clubhouse is voluntary, and its services are supplemental to traditional treatment modes like therapy and medications. 

To participate in our fundraiser, register for our virtual 5k for a suggested donation of $30 (additional donations are most certainly welcome!). If you register, you have the option of receiving a race t-shirt, which will be mailed to you. Then, on any day from October 4-10, 2020, run, walk or bike 5 kilometers. Feel free to take pictures on the day of your run and post them to our Facebook page along with your race time! After you finish the race, you can feel good knowing that you have contributed to a great organization and that you have done your part to e-Race Stigma!
