Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 20th Annual Sister to Sister Fitness Festival 5K Walk/Run will take place virtually on Oct. 2, 2021 at 8:30 AM.
This is the 20th year anniversary for the Sister to Sister Fitness Festival. There will also be limited activities at the the Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center, 310 E. Parkerville Road, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104. This year's event will continue to have both a virtual event to allow participants to run or walk anywhere. This race is hosted by the Celebrating Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This organization’s mission is to making breast cancer powerless by educating, encouraging, and empowering those most impacted by the disease.
Our theme is "One Step at a Time." Studies have shown that walking can help you maintain a healthy body weight. For women, walking lowers hormone levels that increase the risk for breast and endometrial cancers.
You can walk in the park, in the community or at home. You can walk alone or with friends. We will all be uniting wherever we are to walk for a purpose throughout October. We encourage you to practice social distancing as you get your fitness on! Please take pictures and post them on your social media site with the hashtag
We will have limited activities at the Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center. We will keep you posted as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. #sistertosister2021.
