Event Description

Join in the fun and adventure at Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park in this first ever trail event to run (or walk) some new fantastic trails in this newly opened park.  This is all levels welcome, family friendly event, that will be fun for all from the seasoned trail runner to the casual explorer.  You will be enjoying the wonders of the Werner Boyce Salt Springs State Park.  You can run the trails or run and be on the lookout for the Skunk Ape while searching for tokens and clues to sightings.  Your adventure will start at the Skunk Ape Headquarters where you will receive a Field guide, Skunk Ape food, Skunk Ape hunt training, and then once you get your Skunk Ape Hunting Permit, you are ready to hunt for Skunk Ape along well marked newly opened trails of your chosen length.  Your goal is to collect the tokens at the sites of Skunk Ape possible sightings.  You will have a time limit to explore but no rush you will have plenty of time to collect tokens and take pictures of possible sightings.  You must return the tokens to the Skunk Ape Headquarters before noon to receive your T-Shirt, fantastic unique finishers medal, and be eligible for raffles and give aways at the after party  Each token earned gives you a better chance of winning!  Ths is an unchipped timed event.  Once you have finished your hunt you can enjoy fresh made pizza and soda included with your registration! All race participants are elgible for wonderful prizes and give aways at the after party, every token you earn on your Skunk Ape Hunt is another ticket of entry, so keep a lookout for clues!
