Event Description

The first annual Race for a Place to Call Home 5K fundraiser to benefit Project 16:49 will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 through Janesville’s beautiful Riverside Park.  This run/walk will begin promptly at 7:30 am with the start and finish line at the North Pavilion - rain or shine!

We are excited to provide professional chipped timing by Tri-3 Sports Timing for all levels of runners.  Registrants will receive running bibs, t-shirts and medals with neck ribbons.  Participants can register to run in person or virtually.   Covid19 safety precautions will be implemented at the live event.

Registrants will receive running bibs, t-shirts and medallions. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place men's and women's finishers. We also are offering a special challenge to participants...a $100 cash prize for any runners (on-site event only) who can complete the race in 16 minutes and 49 seconds!  We are sure this will give participants a fun, challenging, goal for their personal training achievements.

Project 16:49 is a local non-profit organization serving Rock County’s unaccompanied homeless youth in area high schools and the community. Project 16:49 provides basic needs assistance and case management, and operates two transitional living homes where residents have the opportunity to learn key independent living skills and increase their self-sufficiency while completing their high school education and/or working.   https://project1649.org/
