Children ages 6-14 will have the opportunity to join our program and train for a 5K race along with their 'team members'! The program will focus on proper warm up, stretching, form, breathing, pacing, and cool down. Each session will last approx 1 hour and include post run stretching and fitness and healthy lifestyle discussions. Each ‘runner’ will be placed in a group with others of similar age and ability. The groups are coached by experienced adult runners from the NWBRRC . The program is under the overall direction of head coach Melissa Schwartz Hinton, USATF Level 1 Certified
Event details and schedule
All children should wear suitable running shoes and clothing (dri-fit shirts and shorts are recommended for the Florida heat), bring a water bottle and towel to each session.
