Event Description

Green Dot is an approach to violence prevention that capitalizes on the power of peer and cultural influences across all levels of society.  It says No to Domestic and Dating Violence, Bullying and Child Abuse. It lets everyone in our community know that violence is not okay and that everyone has to do their part!

Come join us for our annual Connecting the Green Dots 5K.  The race is a relatively easy, flat course through the historic city of Seneca. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 8:15 a.m.  T-shirts are guaranteed if registered by August 17, 2020. We will order extra shirts after that date, which will be first come first serve.  

Connecting the Green Dots 5K is sponsored by A Call to Action Oconee.

 

Proceeds from this race go to educating the community and training in Bystander Intervention against domestic and dating violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: 7:30AM

5K: Starts at 8:15 AM.

Awards: The award ceremony will take place at Norton Thompson Park. This ceremony will start at the completion of the 5K.  Awards will be given to the Overall Male and Female and 3 deep ( male and female) in the following age groups - 13 and under, 14-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71 and older.

Shirts and Goodies:

Shirts are guaranteed to those who pre-register by August 17 and will be given out while supplies last to race day registrants.  There will be plenty of refreshments and 2 water stations on the course.

Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on.  Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time.  If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time.  Sorry, no refunds.
