Join us for one of the premier running events of the Suncoast on Saturday, March 4, 2017, 7:30 a.m. start time for the open division. 

Custom bibs, shirt, socks and finisher's medal and a great post race celebration make this year after year one of the favorite races for locals and visitors alike.

Run this iconic race in Venice,FL, known as the Shark's Tooth Capital of the World.


Professionally chip timed, the Shark's Tooth 10K is a USATF certified single-loop course from the Venice Airport Festival Grounds, through neighborhoods, along the beach-front road, into Caspersen Beach Park, and returning along the Venetian Waterway Trail to the Festival Grounds.  Scenic and unique, the only run starting and finishing on the Festival Grounds.

Custom SockGuy Running Socks Option:  You can choose-with your registration you can choose to receive a Shark's Tooth 10K short-sleeve, tech shirt or the Shark's Tooth 10K custom USA-made SockGuy socks with your registration.  Or, for only $10 more, you can choose the "Premium" registration and receive BOTH the shirt and socks.

Shirt Deadline:  Register by 2/5/17 to have the tech shirt in the style and size you selected available at packet pick up. After this date, we will try our best to provide the shirt size you select but sizes will be limited to the supply on hand.

Packet Pick Up:  Advance packet pick up details will be announced.  Race morning packet pick up is from 5:30 to 7:15 a.m. at the Venice Airport Festival Grounds.  Shark's Tooth 10K starts at 7:30 a.m. and the Walker Category starts approximately 5 minutes later.

Walker Category: For participants who will COMPLETE and COMPETE as a Walker. If you will mostly walk but intend to run or jog some, please do NOT register as a Walker. Walker participants will be issued a distinct race bib & start 5 minutes after the open field. Although not a judged racewalk competition, one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times & there will be monitors on the course. Running or jogging will be basis for disqualification. Parking:  Plenty of parking is available on-site, totally free, and helpful directors to guide you. 

The Course:  Predominantly on prepared surfaces: asphalt and concrete.  A small portion to and from the festival grounds and in Caspersen Beach Park is on graded, crushed shell drives and packed trails. Please be aware and considerate of other runners and walkers for the safety of other participants, you, and your children if choosing to use a jogging stroller.

Course Time Restrictions:  Runners, joggers and walkers are welcome. You must be able to complete the 6.2 course maintaining just under17 minutes per mile. The finish line will close at 9:35 a.m.

Please, NO PETS: Pets are not permitted on the festival grounds.

I-Pods, MP3's, etc.:  For the safety of all participants, volunteers and spectators, the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, the Shark’s Tooth 10K encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Shark’s Tooth 10K. Police and volunteers monitor the roads and intersections for your safety but roads are not closed to vehicular traffic.

Awards: 

Male and Female Overall, Youth (14 and under), Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grand-masters,  and Veteran Grandmasters (70+) (based on gun time)   

Age Groups: year age-group awards 3 deep from 12 & under, 13-14, then 5 year groups 15-19, etc. to 80 & over (based on chip/net time)

 Walker Category Awards  Male and Female 39 & under and Male and Female 40 & over (gun time from the Walker start time)
