Event Description

The 2017 CCC Annual Hunger Walk / 5K Run / Kids Fun Run is designed as a family day event. The proceeds of the event help to provide support for CCC's Urban Farming Project teaching our youth organic farming techniques, cooking & nutrition education. It also supports CCC's Senior Caregiving Program which provides 262 frail & elderly shut-ins with home delivered meals, fresh weekly produce, & social activities, as well as our food pantry.

The 5K Run is also designed to support our economic development programs for job training and a culinary business development center. The event encourages vendors participation. It also enlists the local restaurants & business to participate by offering discount deals for participants encouraging them to patronize their establishments.

Event details and schedule

Runner same day registration begins at 6:30 AM at 511 NE 4th St parking lot. Run starts at 7:30 AM. T-shirts are included in your registration. We encourage early registration so that you can secure your t-shirt size. We cannot promise that your size wil be available on the day of registration. Runners will receive a promotional Runner's Packet, medal, and/or certificate. Runner's packets and bids may be picked up prior to registration on Thursday & Friday at (TBD)  until _____ PM. Runners will be running down Federal Highway betweek Boynton Beach Blvd & Gateway Blvd on the West side of Federal's divided highway. Kids Fun Run will be held between the 5 K Run and the Walk.  

Road closures along Federal Highway will begin at 5 AM, and AccuChip, USA will provide the offical timing.

Walkers may find registration forms and walker sponsor forms can be found on-line at www.cccgbb.org. Registration & warm-up is at 7:30 AM and the 1.5 mile walk to the beach and back begins at 8 AM. Prizes will be given to the Individual, Team, and Youth Group that raises the most money to benefit CCC. FREE t-shirts for those that raise over $100, only one per. Each walker will also receive a promotional packet. Walkers may walk for FREE, however, a suggested donation of $20 and/or non-perishable food items should be considered for the food pantry. A commemorative T-shirt may be purchased for $15 each.  

Walker and runner courses are pet friendly. so are several of the restaurants.

There will also be a dunk tank provided by Alldry, USA. The Mayor of Boynton Beach has agreed to be dunked, tickets are $5 for 5 tries. This event will support the City of Boynton's "Let's Move" annual campaign.
