NOTICE: 2021 RACE POSTPONED

Based on the recommendation of healthcare professionals, the Albemarle County Police Foundation's Executive Committee made the difficult decision to postpone the 4th Annual Guardians' Gauntlet due to COVID. Concerns about the rise in COVID cases caused by the Delta variant and the safety of our participants, officers, and volunteers warranted the delay. As a public safety organization, we felt this was the right decision. We are looking forward to a Spring event when hopefully the pandemic is behind us. A new date will be released for the Spring race as soon as it is confirmed.

Guardians' Gauntlet is a 5K obstacle course race, benefiting the Albemarle County Police Foundation. Designed to inspire teams to run, walk, crawl, climb, and laugh your way to a brazen sense of accomplishment, the Gauntlet provides something for every level of athlete.

The 4th Guardians' Gauntlet will feature a brand new location! Boar’s Head Resort trails will provide an exciting new landscape, new obstacles, new challenges, new faces, and a whole lot of fun. Racers will also find some of Albemarle County's finest Police Officers participating and providing help at various obstacles. In fact, some of our obstacles emulated officer training scenarios. The challenge is meant for everyone to come out to share in the event, cheer each other on, and meet some of the Officers who protect our community everyday.

The post-race festival will offer food, beverages, and live music.
