WOOF - ARE YOU READY TO RUN FOR THE DOGS WITH DOGS!
The 7th Annual the Fast and the Furriest 5K and 1 Mile Walk
April 8th, 2017 at Centurylink Sports Complex/Hammond Stadium!
This 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk is dog friendly and tail-wagging fun!
Participants are welcome to run or walk with or without their dog!
Whether you are a serious runner, a weekend jogger or just enjoy walking, this event is for you! What you most surely must be is a lover of the furry! This event supports the GCHS in their mission of finding forever adoptive homes for the pets of Southwest Florida!
Traditional age group medals awarded to top chipped runners, and to the Fastest Dogs in 3 weight categories. Other awards for Top Fundraisers and Triple Crown Award Winners too!
Event details and schedule
7:30am - 5K Run Starts
7:35am - Fun 1 Mile Walk Starts
Day of Race Registration starts at 6:00am
Awards will be given to overall male & female and top 3 in each age group (male & female)
Age Categories: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Up and Weight Category of Pets
Course will be open for at least 1 hour - results will be tallied as soon as possible
- Pets are welcome to participate with their Guardians but MUST be leashed (non-retractable leads only) and up to date with vaccinations. They must be accustomed to the distance and weather (3.1 miles) and able to not interfere with other participants or pets. If your dog is struggling, please stop. Water and cooling stations will be throughout.
- Family Pack allows 2 Adults, up to 4 Youths - one T-shirt only
- Day of Race (chipped) Price increase to $35 Adults and $25 Youth 17 and Under - Additional $5.00 if running with a dog.
