Event Description
Welcome to Tampa International Airport's 5K on the Runway. We have reached our cruising altitude of 5 years. As we turn off the "fasten your shoelaces" sign, sprint to the finish line to benefit United Way Suncoast.
This event, like no other in the Tampa Bay area, gives participants the rare opportunity to run on the airport’s longest runway, Runway 1L-19R. The run benefits United Way Suncoast, an organization that supports community outreach programs and provides direct and significant impact to improve the lives of thousands of people in the Tampa Bay area. All participants will receive an awesome TPA 5K shirt and a finisher medal.
NOT IN TAMPA? Sign up for the Virtual 5K. You pick the path you want to run and complete it at a time and place that is convenient for you. We will mail you an awesome TPA 5K shirt with a finisher medal after the official event. Please note that if you sign up for the Virtual 5K, you will NOT be able to run on the runway.
Race Course
Runway 1L-19R: The perfect platform for first timers and experienced athletes to reach their personal bests. 5K of wide open runway!
Free Parking
Gates open at 6:00 a.m. Event entrance is off of Hillsborough Avenue. Turn South on Hoover Blvd. Follow signs.
Awards
This will be a chip timed event although awards will be based on gun time.
Airplane trophies will be presented to:
* Overall top three men
* Overall top three women
* Overall wheelchair participant
* Youth division 9 & under; top three girls, top three boys
* Youth division 10-13; top three girls, top three boys
* Youth division 14-18; top three girls, top three boys
Top three women/men in each of the following age divisions will be recognized:
19-24 30-34 40-44 50-54 60-64 70+
25-29 35-39 45-49 55-59 65-69

5K Run - 5K Race - United Way Suncoast Fundraiser - Chip Timed Event
All proceeds benefit United Way Suncoast.
Waivers must be signed prior to race.
Chip timed race results will be posted on coolrunning.com.
Airline raffle tickets sold online through Active.com, at Bag Pickup and on race day (do not need to be present to win).
Bag Pickup @ Cell Phone Lot: Wednesday, April 19: 12pm - 7pm; Thursday, April 20: 7am - 2pm
