Event Description

Join the Smith Mountain Lake community in the effort to eliminate poverty in the region on Saturday, September 25 at the Smith Mountain Lake State Park. The SML Walk to End Poverty will assist Lake Christian Ministries in developing more programs and services to impact poverty in our community. Walkers and runners participating in teams or as individuals are welcome. Friendly competition among teams is invited and encouraged. Registration fee will be $10 for ages 18 and up or $5 for children under 18. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., and the 5K and 10K Walks will start at 10 a.m. The event will take place rain or shine. Lunch will follow the Walk beginning at 11 a.m. Plan to stay and enjoy food, fun and fellowship with your team members and friends.
