Our Armed Forces go through a lot even after they've returned home from deployment and sometimes they need a hand-up to return to a normal civilian life. It's Our Turn Inc. 501(c)3, a Veteran group composed of men and women who have served in the Armed Forces, has designed this race because they believe there is great honor in helping their brothers who have sacrificed and fought for our freedom.
Now, "It's Your Turn" to stand-up and help the needy Veterans in Charlotte County! This year, we are partnering with Habitat For Humanity and your donations will give one deserving Veteran his very own home!
Sign up today for the 4th Annual Memorial Day 10k & 5k Race. This year’s race is the 2nd part of a Five-Year Race Series honoring each branch of our United States Armed Forces. This year's theme is dedicated to the few, the proud, the United States Marines! Semper Fidelis!
If you want to experience this patriotic and inspiring race, please do not delay signing-up! The physical race has sold out every year and with only 600 participant spots available this year, you do not want to miss out!
For the first time ever, the Memorial Day Veterans Race will be offering a Virtual 5K & 10K component, this option will allow those that are unable to make it to the physical race the opportunity to run anywhere, anytime and still be a part of this spectacular cause! Registration for the Virtual Races will close on April 1, 2017. For more info on virtual racing please visit www.memorialdayrace.org.
Registered participants of the physical & virtual 10k & 5k race will receive a gender specific race shirt (if registered by April 1, 2017), and a Marine Corp themed finisher medal. (Virtual runners are eligible for the 5-year commemorative gift if they ran last years’ race.) Registered participants of the physical race will also have entry into a drawing for Two Roundtrip Airline Tickets from South West Airlines, commemorative military awards for overall male and female in both 5k &10k races, 1st, 2nd & 3rd awards in all age groups, pre & post-race entertainment (live music, color guard & fly-over by the Florida War Birds), post-race refreshments and raffles items from local businesses/sponsors.
Again this year we want to thank our participants for their generosity to our local Veterans, if you donate $50.00 or more, you will recieve a customized commemorative gender specific digital camo tech shirt as our special thank you! (Please visit our store for this special offer.)
