Sawyer Burch was recently diagnosed with a life threatening rare metabolic disorder called Trifunctional Protein deficiency. There are currently less than 100 people worldwide suffering from TFP, with the oldest patient being only 25 years of age. These patients’ only hope for a long life is for continued research. However, due to lack of funding, specialists are unable to continue research even though the clinical research is very promising. Since TFP is so rare, there is a chronic lack of funding and any funding that was available has now been given to Covid research. With the decrease in funds, all promising research has been suspended. Children’s lives are “on hold” when they need research to help them live longer. Join us July 23-24 for a virtual 5k race to support Sawyer Burch and Trifunctional Protein Deficiency research. 100% off proceeds will go towards funding TFP research to help children fighting this disease. You can support Sawyer by donating and or participating in the 5k at any time and any place on July 23 & 24. We hope you’ll walk or run with us then!
