Event Description

This inaugural 5k is to commemorate our very dear friend Steve Baker. This will not be a 'competitive event and there will be no place finishers, rather a way to gather, support, and observe a wonderful human being. We welcome anyone who would like to participate! Runners, Joggers, walkers, bikers, families with strollers, pets etc. will all be welcome. We hope that this can be an annual tribute to Steve, his life and accomplishments, and legacy, that we all admire. Young people 5 and under are free to participate!! We hope to have food trucks that will be set up at the finish of the race @ Vogel Park in Rome and part of the profits will also be donated to this fundraiser. Money from the inaugural event will likely be donated directly to Steve's wife Julie and their daughter Diana. Please feel free to contact me (Mike Rushford) with any questions you may have. We understand that this a very short time away but anyone who can participate will be greatly appreciated. There will be announcements in the upcoming weeks in both the Rome Daily Sentinel and Utica OD as well as Facebook posts from close friends so feel free to share!! I will add a map of the run soon!
