FINISH

Is this a solo event or team event?
Solo participants and teams are allowed.  You can enter as a solo participant and run all 26 legs.  You may also enter as a team (2 or more people) and divide up the legs among team members.  You cannot be a solo participant AND a member of a team.  Pick one or the other.  Teams can have 2 – 26 team members.

How does the whole team thing work?
This event is super flexible.   We do not stipulate which team member runs which segment (leg).  Just make sure one of your team members show up at the start line at the top of each hour and then report their time and team name after the conclusion of their mile.   For example, Rosie Runner has entered a team and there are three team members:  Rosie Runner, Fast Fanny, and Slow Steve.   Rosie runs segments 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15.   Fanny runs segments 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14.  Steve runs segments 16-26.   Each team will be different, and each team decides how to split up their segments.  You do you!

Where is the course?
This is the beauty of the event.  At the start of each hour, you get to choose where you run.   We will have at least 3 courses mapped out that you can follow.  However, you may choose to run 1/2 mile out and back in any direction on the side roads surrounding the park or use the paved loop path inside the park.   You can make your course a flat out and back, a hilly out and back, a flat loop, or whatever you discover around the park and surrounding neighborhoods.    Report to the start line at the top of each hour, run your 1 mile, then report back to the finish line with your time.    The sample courses shown at the bottom of this page can be used or create your own!

How are the results handled?
Solo participants/Teams will be given an official sheet to track their times.  After the completion of each mile, our timing staff will enter all times into a pre-designed spreadsheet that will keep track of your on-course progress.   Awards will be determined based on your age and on-course time.   Solos will be competing in Age Groups and Teams will be competing against each other.

Age groups:  Female 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Male 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

What do I receive for my entry fee?
1)      A fully supported 26-hour event.
2)      A well-stocked aid station consisting of all your favorite treats and drinks along with a few amazing surprises.
3)      A during-the-race evening cookout with grilled meats and all the fixings.  There will be a vegetarian option.
4)      An awesome one-of- a-kind STRC 1MPH Marathon Hoodie.
5)      A custom Finisher’s Medal for those that complete the challenge.
6)      The ability to pitch a tent and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants in Camp STRC at the park.
7)      Access to restrooms throughout the event.
8)      The experience of a lifetime and bragging rights for years to come.

Can I run with other participants during the race?
Absolutely yes!  We highly encourage you to make new running friends during the race.  You will need some positive vibes and encouragement when the going gets tough (especially between midnight and 5:00am).

Can I bring alcohol to the park?
Unfortunately, no.   Alcohol is not allowed inside the park.  However, you may visit the new local Aces & Eights fuel station or Champions Sports Grille to buy and consume your favorite adult-beverage there, but not in the park.

When can I setup my tent?
The park will be open at 6:00am on Saturday, August 28, 2021 for participants to setup their tents and stake out their sites.  See map below for camping areas.

Where can I park?
See map below for parking areas.

Can I bring my pet?
Yes, pets are allowed.  Picking up after your pet is required.

Can I bring my RV to the event?
Yes, RV’s are allowed, but you need to be completely self-contained.  There are no hookups, water, or dumping at the park.   All RV’s/campers need to be fully parked on pavement.

When is Packet Pickup and Registration?
Based on participant numbers, registration and packet pickup may be opened on Friday evening before the race, but definitely Saturday morning starting at 6:30am.

Where are the bathrooms?
Bathrooms are located inside the main park building and will be available during the race.   Also, porta-potties will be located on the park grounds.

Do I have to stay in the park during the race?
No!   What you do during your downtime is completely up to you.   You can sleep, take a walk, take your vehicle offsite to visit the local gas station, local restaurant (sit down or fast food), get a haircut, visit one of the many local ice cream shops, grab a sub at AJ’s Deli, or a coffee at Dunkin Donuts.   However, make sure you or a member of your team is at the start line at the top of each hour.   Miss a start and you are running for fun.

Do I have run at the top of each hour?
Yes.   You (solos) or a member of your team (teams) must be present at the top of each hour to run their mile.  Miss a start, now you are just running for fun and your subsequent times will not be recorded and you are no longer eligible for awards.   Set that alarm!   Do not miss the top of an hour.

What happens if I miss the top of the hour and do not run my 1 mile?
Don’t stress out!   You can still take part in the fun, food, friendships, and finish the event, but you will not be eligible for awards, and we won’t be recording your times any longer.   You will still get all the swag except the finisher’s medal.  This is a physical AND mental challenge.   If you think you will need help making it to the start line each hour, bring a family member or friend to help you.  You will be able to purchase a food pass to entice your favorite friend or family member to join you for the 26 hour event.
