Event Description
The Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida is going live with a 5k this year at Tiger Town Joker Marchant stadium in Lakeland, FL on September 18, 2021! As well as challenging YOU to join the POWer in Pink – 26.2 Virtual Month-Long Marathon Challenge during the month of September! Together we can help breast cancer patients pack a POWerful PUNCH to situational poverty, stemming from a breast cancer diagnosis!
5K In Person
The In-Person 5k will be held on September 18, 2021 at 8am and start in the Tiger Town parking lot near the front gates of Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, FL. The course will take a quick loop around the parking lot then head out to run some of the shaded paved trails in Lake Parker Park then head back and finish at the same place you started. There will be vendor and sponsor booths to check out while you are waiting for the awards presentation. Awards will be given out to the Male and Female Overall, Masters (40+) and Grand Masters (50+) winners, and also top three Male & Female in the standard 5 year age groups (9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19... up to 80+). Best "pink-i-fied" dressed male and female participant will also receive a special award! Registered participants will receive event specific swag, race bib, AND a special offer from FITniche to redeem at ANY FITniche Running Store location (Lakeland, Brandon, or Flatwoods) valid for three weeks after the date of packet pick up. Shirts for In-Person 5k participants are guaranteed if registered by September 1st. The first 230 In-Person 5k registrants to cross the finish line will receive a finisher medal.
In-person 5k participants we encourage you to share your experience in a short video or selfie on your social media pages (tag us using the handles below) and use the hashtags #BCFCFPowerInPink and #BCFCF5K in your description!

26.2 Virtual Month-Long Marathon Challenge
For the 26.2 Virtual Month-Long Marathon Challenge, you can Run/walk, bike, swim, or skate/rollerblade to complete the marathon; you choose HOW and WHERE you want to do the miles—just log and keep track of your miles! Complete the challenge indoor, outdoor, in your neighborhood or in your backyard! Miles must be completed September 1-30, 2021. Registered participants will receive event specific swag, race bib, downloadable print-at-home log sheet, AND a special offer from FITniche to redeem at ANY FITniche Running Store location (Lakeland, Brandon, or Flatwoods) valid for three weeks after the date of packet pick up. Prizes provided by local sponsors will be awarded for the following categories: first breast cancer survivor/current breast cancer warrior to complete the 26.2 mile challenge, first participant to complete the 26.2 mile challenge via cycling, first participant to complete the 26.2 mile challenge via walking/running, participant to complete the most miles individually logged (over the 26.2 mile mark), oldest participant to complete the most miles individually logged (over the 26.2 mile mark), and participant with most workout posts on the POWer in Pink – 26.2 Virtual Marathon Challenge Facebook Group page. Shirts for virtual participants are guaranteed if registered by August 15th. The first 250 virtual registrants are guaranteed a participant medal.
