Event Description

🧁  Cheers to 22 years!  🎂

It's our 22nd anniversary and we can't think of a better way to celebrate than to take it to the streets!! 🎉 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️  Your support will allow us to continue our contributions to local organizations and encourage fitness in our community.  

This run/walk race is family-friendly, stroller-friendly and will be chip-timed.  Strollers will start to the side of the corral, stay tuned to pre-race announcements for details.  We love our dogs, but dogs are not allowed in the venue nor on the race course.

 

Registration Fees

5K run/walk:
$30 until October 25, 2021 at 2pm
$35 until January 24, 2022 at 2pm
$40 until February 7, 2022 at (or race is sold out)
$5 cheaper without a shirt

Event is capped at 550 runners so don't wait to register!

You can pick up on behalf of someone else as long as they know you are collecting their materials.

 

Race Day

Gun time will be promptly at 9AM. 

In order to start on time, please be parked and in the starting corral with your bib pinned to the FRONT of your shirt by 8:50AM.  There will be important event announcements starting at 8:50AM that everyone must be present for.  Our street closures are time sensitive so we cannot start late.  Bib numbers must be pinned on all four corners to the front of your outer-most torso layer.  This will ensure our traffic control, timing/scoring and security teams know who is a legitimate participant.

 

 

Awards

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers overall; top one male and top one female masters finisher (40+).
Prizes will also be awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in the following age groups:
12 & Under
13-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70+

Overall awards will be scored using gun time as the start time.  Age group awards will be scored based on individual chip time.

Award ceremony will begin at 10AM, or after all categories have been filled.  If you cannot be present for awards ceremony, you can collect your award at Heart & Sole Sports after Feb 22nd.  No awards will be mailed out.

 

Amenities

Each registrant will receive the following items:

LIVE Results - During registration, you can choose to have your results texted directly to you and your friends as you cross the finish line.  Results will live stream to this webpage during the event so family and friends can follow along.  There will not be any printed results, all online and instant.

Race Shirt - A Brooks Performance shirt in gender specific sizes from small to 2XL available. Shirts are guaranteed to those who register by January 21st, and may not be available to those registering after January 21st.  There is also an option to not include a shirt with your registration at a discount of $5, so no shirts there.

Finisher Medal - All finishers will receive a custom finisher medal.

Parking
Plenty of race parking is available inside the grounds of the New Mexico Veterans Memorial.

 

Event Policy:
Please no roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, pets or headphones allowed on the race course. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your race number to another participant.

Headphones are strongly discouraged and will disqualify you from an overall award category.

REFUND, DEFERRAL, TRANSFER, AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

Refunds
Race registration fees (and the processing charge from RunSignup) are not refundable. These funds are used to pay for race premiums, permits, supplies, staffing, and other costs incurred before, during, and after the event is held. To be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy.

Deferrals
We offer the option for registrants to defer their entry to the following year's event up to two weeks prior to the race (February 4, 2022). After this deadline passes we are unable to allow deferrals as race materials have been received and prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may defer their entry by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.

Transfers
We offer the option for registrants to transfer their entry to another eligible participant up to two weeks prior to the race (February 4, 2022). After this deadline passes we are unable to allow transfers as race materials have been received and prepped for the event. Again, to be consistent and fair to everyone we cannot make exceptions to this policy. Registrants may transfer their entry to another registrant by going into their profile on runsignup.com and choosing "Manage Registration" next to the race.
