Event Description

The Cradle of Hope will be hosting “Run for Cover”, virtual 5K to help raise over $30,000 for urgently needed repairs. The virtual 5k will take place during the month of October and since it's virtual you can participate anytime anywhere. You'll also be able to challenge each other and we'll be tracking the total number of miles everyone runs to see who ran the furthest.

We are currently experiencing serious plumbing issues, need to repave our driveway to prevent further water damage, and are working to restore our garages so that we can safely store baby items that we hand out to mothers in need.    

Please consider supporting our “Run for Cover” event to ensure a safe, dry and secure home for young mothers and their infants. Every dollar raised will go directly to needed home and property repairs.

This race can be done anywhere and anytime during October 2021.

What is the Cradle of Hope?

The Cradle of Hope is in your neighborhood and is a program to help single mothers and children who are experiencing homelessness. Cradle of Hope provides housing, funds education, and case management to enable these mothers the opportunity to be self-sufficient.

Mothers served by Cradle of Hope have either recently had a baby or are at the end of their pregnancy. Poverty and lack of affordable housing often trap these young mothers in cycles of homelessness, forcing them to forfeit academic and professional goals. Since our founding in 1997, over 104 mothers and 1004 children have been served and 82% of the mothers and the children have secured employment and permanent housing. An additional 110 mothers were served already this year through our new Cradle Pregnancy Resource Center.
