This will be our 15th annual 5K. We changed the name of our race in 2018 in memory of a very special man. Aramis Alvarez was an example of a man who loved God and he spread that love. Aramis died in a tragic accident in December 2017 leaving those who knew and loved him with a hole in our hearts.
He and his wife, Alicia, started a nonprofit foundation to support children, youth and the disabled in Honduras. Sharing Hearts assists in providing food, supplies, wheelchairs and other equipment for those with disabilities as well as through educational opportunities, love and mentoring. Aramis and Alicia adopted 2 wonderful Honduras teenagers. A portion of the profits from our 5K is donated to Sharing Hearts to help continue the work of the foundation.
