Event Description
Volksmarching is a form of non-competitive fitness walking that developed in the mid-late 1960s in Europe. It’s NOT a race, it’s a way to get outside and enjoy the company of friends, see the sights of a village and share lunch after the walk. Many of our military have been introduced to Volksmarching as a fun, family event while serving especially Germany.
Copper City Brewing sponsors it’s first Volksmarch that starts and ends at the B52 aircraft displayed on Chestnut/Mohawk Street as you enter Griffiss Tech Park. The March is approximately 5 kilometers (or you can pick a distance comfortable for you) and loops through the park giving walkers a view of the progress happening on Griffiss.
A commemorative stein, lunch and a beer are included in registration. Lunch and beer is served at the brewery, 1111 Oneida St. in Rome.
