Event Description

South Fork School District is located in the Southern Sierra Nevada mountians, near the South Fork of the Kern River. Our small school district serves approximately 260 students, with grades PreK-8th. We are a very rural area nestled in the mountains, and we want our students to have a proper track and field: a grass field in the middle of a curbed and graded decomposed granite track surface. When the wind blows, our students get sandblasted while they are running. Having a proper track will inspire the students to run faster, and run more. The play field in the middle will be an asset to the PE program, and will be able to be used by the community for AYSO and football.

Event details and schedule

All races will start at 9am from the school track. The course is all dirt: be prepared for trail conditions. If we are lucky, the wildflowers will be in bloom. The weather in April is anyone's guess; we've had snow, we've had 65 degree sunshine, and everything in between. Be ready for an off roading adventure.

All parking will be at the school. Please arrive by 8:30 am to pick up your packet. (Earliest packet pick-up/registration will be 7:45am.)

Water stations and water bottles will be provided.

Directions: From Hwy 178, turn south onto Kelso Valley Road. NOT Kelso Creek. Kelso Valley Road only goes South. Drive about 2 miles and you will see the school on your right.
