Event Description

The Adirondack region in northeastern New York is a recreational paradise of high rocky summits and breathtaking vistas — both of which factor into the sadistic mountain bike race known as the Blueprint for Athletes Wilmington Whiteface MTB, part of the Wilmington Whiteface Bike Fest and a qualifier for the Blueprint for Athletes Leadville Trail 100 MTB. Where Olympic heroes once skied down the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies, you will face a decidedly different direction — straight up. Good luck with all that.

The race starts and finishes at Whiteface Mountain, exploring Jeep roads near Jay and Saddleback mountains to a technical stretch of single track at Hardy road trails and again on the Flume trail and Whiteface mountain singletrack. This was the site of the 1980 Olympic Winter Games' downhill ski races — offering the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies. All racers ride one lap in the finish section on Whiteface Mountain.

Aid stations are located approximately every 20km along the course (20km, 40km, 60km, 80km, finish). Each aid station is stocked with Gu Energy Gels, Gu Chomps, Water, Electrolyte drink, fruit and light snacks.
