Event Description
The 21th Annual Sertoma Run & Walk will take place on a crisp fall morning this year in the shadow of the beautiful Sacramento Mountains. The Sertoma Club of Alamogordo was founded on October 18, 1956. SERTOMA, an international community-service organization, was formed in 1912 and exists for the high and noble purpose of SERvice TO MAnkind. Among the many youth and community oriented activities that our Club participates in, we provide scholarhsip money to the Miss Alamogordo and Miss Otero County pageants (a preliminary to Miss America), and to Alamogordo Tiger Athletes through the Rex "Doc" Hutchinson & Mrs. Donna Columbus Memorial Scholarships. All proceeds from the Run/Walk will benefit Sertoma Scholarships and support community causes.
Event details and schedule
The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of 1st Street & Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, NM.
Packet pickup is on Friday, October 22nd from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at FIRST NATIONAL BANK, 414 E 10th Street, Alamogordo. If you cannot pick up the packet on Friday, we encourage you to be there Saturday between 7:30-7:45 to pick up the packet.
The 5K begins at the corner of 1st Street and Scenic Drive, goes up Scenic Drive approximately 1.6 miles, turn around and come back down Scenic Drive to starting point.
Since this is one week before Halloween, we encourage you to dress to impress for this Spooktacular event!
