Event Description

Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for all we have been given, including the gift of each other. Unfortunately for SMARD families, the gift of another day is never certain. Adversity seems to lurk around every corner. However, our families and the communities that support us have the courage to face difficult circumstances, move forward with passion, patience, and perseverance, and find meaning on the other side of pain and heartache.

Resilience is defined as the ability to withstand adversity and bounce back from difficult life events. This is the motto of our daily lives. And we are able to push forward with hope for tomorrow because of you and your support.

This Thanksgiving, walk, run, or roll in support of someone you love who is bravely facing a SMARD diagnosis. Walk for someone who inspires you to live in the moment and to be thankful for every breath. Walk for someone whose smile brings you joy. Walk for someone you love and have lost. Walk so that others in the future won't face the same challenges we face today.

All proceeds support smashSMARD, a non-profit organization currently funding gene therapy research to develop life-saving treatment for those with SMARD and CMT2S. Help us make a difference for SMARD families.
