Event Description

The 2021 SEMO Pumpkin Run
The 2021 event – scheduled for November 6th at 8:30 am in
East Prairie – will be a fun 5K Run/Walk that encourages
families to get active and raise awareness for Domestic Violence month. The run is again being organized by the board, friends, and staff of Mississippi County’s Susanna Wesley Family Learning Center (SWFLC). Proceeds raised by the Pumpkin Run will go to maintain operations and programs for SWFLC.
If you aren’t familiar with color runs, at various points throughout the course, runners will be able to be sprinkled in a non-toxic, colored powder. These types of runs are popular all around the world and draw in all levels of athletes for a fun, colorful morning!

Event details and schedule

Why is the Pumpkin Run so important?
The SWFLC mission is to help develop healthy families in our area. Unfortunately, the Southeast Missouri area often ranks very high on risk factors – especially health-related factors -- across a number of populations. The Pumpkin Run will provide families with a fun opportunity for a 5K (or a 1-mile option) to get moving on a fall Saturday morning and perhaps start embracing a health-minded lifestyle!
