Event Description

Fayetteville is proud to welcome a worldwide audience of teams, athletes, and spectators as we host the 2022 Walmart UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, January 28-30, 2022. This will only be the second time in the 72-year history of the event that it will be held in the United States.

Cyclo-cross is one of the fastest growing cycling disciplines featuring a looped course through obstacles and natural elements like mud and sand, making it a frenzied and spectator-friendly form of racing. We are pleased to offer our purpose-built, world-class course at Centennial Park to the best cyclo-cross athletes from 30+ countries as they compete in seven events over three days. It’s your chance to see Olympic gold medalists, world and national champions, Tour de France stage winners and up-and-coming stars competing for Rainbow jerseys signifying UCI world champions!

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to make this event a success, and it would not be possible without the help from people like you! There are a variety of volunteer jobs and shifts available for your selection. Please click the "Volunteer" tab above to register.

All volunteers will receive the following: free admission on the day of your shift, a volunteer shirt, an official beanie hat, and lunch. 

We will hold a volunteer orientation in mid-January, and your participation is encouraged. More details regarding the date, location, etc. will be shared shortly.  Some specific tasks will require additional training that has already been built into the shift times.

There is no onsite parking available at Centennial Park. Experience Fayetteville will offer complimentary shuttles January 28-30 to the venue. Volunteers will receive updates on shuttle pickup locations and schedule.

1:00 PM -  UCI Men Under 23 Cyclo-cross World Championships
2:30 PM - UCI Women Elite Cyclo-cross World Championships

Sunday, January 30 (Centennial Park):
11:00 AM - UCI Men Junior Cyclo-cross World Championships
1:00 PM - UCI Women Under 23 Cyclo-cross World Championships
2:30 PM - UCI Men Elite Cyclo-cross World Championships
